Troubleshoot and repair faulty measurement instruments using appropriate diagnostic tools and techniques
Create and update calibration procedures when necessary, ensuring compliance with industry standards
Manage calibration schedules to ensure timely maintenance of all equipment
Verify calibration of new equipment upon receipt and before deployment
Required Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in Electronics, Metrology, Instrumentation, or related technical field
2+ years of experience in instrument calibration, preferably in a manufacturing or laboratory setting
Knowledge of calibration standards such as ISO/IEC 17025, ANSI/NCSL Z540, and ISO 9001
Experience with standardization management software systems
Skillfulness in using various test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, pressure calibrators, and temperature calibrators
Powerful mathematical and analytical skills for data interpretation and certainty calculations
Knowledge to read and interpret technical documents, schematics, and manufacturer specifications
Detail-oriented mindset with superior documentation skills
Problem-solving quality to troubleshoot complex instrument solution
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or related field
ASQ Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) or similar professional certification
Experience with specialized calibration in electrical, mechanical, dimensional, pressure, temperature, or other disciplines
Knowledge of uncertainty budgets and measurement statistics
Experience with Six Sigma or other quality improvement methodologies
Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
Physical Requirements:
Knowledge to support for prolonged periods while performing calibrations
Hand-operated dexterity to control small elements and make skillful adjustments
Vision capabilities adequate to read small symbols and settings on instruments
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds when self-propelling equipment
Production to work in various environmental conditions depending on the calibration setting
Work Environment:
Mainly laboratory scope with controlled temperature and humidity
May involve occasional travel to customer sites or other facilities
Expected exposure to electrical equipment, chemicals, or high-pressure systems with proper safety protocols in place
Typical schedule is 40 hours per week, with occasional overtime during busy periods or scheduled shutdowns
May require on-call availability for emergency calibration needs in some industries
